Financial Policy and Dental Insurance

Our goal is to provide excellent care and comprehensive periodontal treatment to all of our patients in a friendly, comfortable environment. To assist you with your investment in your periodontal health we have provided our payment policy. If you have any questions regarding payment options or your financial responsibility for treatment, please contact our office.

We do ask for payment at the time of treatment. This includes deductibles and any estimated patient financial responsibilities. We accept the following payment options:

  1. Cash – This includes checks and money orders.
  2. Credit Cards – Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
  3. Extended Payment Plans – Please ask us for more information.

Our insurance coordinators deal with many different insurance companies. Some companies offer many different dental and medical plans. These companies can change benefits, co-pays, and deductibles many times throughout the year. We do our best to provide you with accurate coverage estimates based on information available to us. At times, it is almost impossible to accurately estimate a patient’s insurance co-payment. Many insurance companies will not give out fees until after the treatment is completed. Dealing with these companies can be difficult and time consuming. As a courtesy, we ask that you keep us informed of any change to your insurance. It is important that all information about you and your insurance is current.

Although we will gladly file a claim on your behalf, you may wish to submit the claim yourself. In general, insurers process claims filed directly by patients faster than those filed by the service providers (dental offices).

Further, most dental insurance policies are limited and often only pay for a portion of the procedure(s) that may need to be done.

Co-Payment

The majority of dental plans reimburse approximately 30-80 percent of treatment costs. This can usually be determined at your initial visit.

Dental Insurance

As a courtesy to you, we will bill your dental insurance. Please keep in mind that dental insurance plans do not cover 100% of the cost of treatment. We will do our best to provide you with an accurate estimate of coverage based on the information available to us. This estimate is not a guarantee of payment. If your insurance company has not paid their estimated portion within 45 days from the date of your treatment, the balance in full will become your responsibility. We will provide you with reimbursement documentation, if necessary. Our Financial Coordinator can work with you to help you understand your dental insurance and benefits. Please keep our office up to date on your current dental insurance.

Changing an Appointment

If it should become necessary to reschedule your appointment, we do ask for two business days’ notice to change a surgical appointment and one business day for any other appointments. A fee may be charged for any cancelled or failed appointments without the requested amount of notice. A deposit may also be required prior to scheduling some surgical procedures.

For surgical procedures, our policy is that payment is due in full at the time of service, including deductibles and any estimated patient co-pays. We accept the following payment options:

We bill your dental insurance as a courtesy to you, however, bear in mind that insurance plans typically do not cover 100% of the cost of your treatment.
